This One is About a Daughter

Fly Me To The Moon

I tried for a long time to put this into words, but unfortunately, I can’t.
I am unable to put the moments of silence into words, or the feelings you had, the nights you couldn’t sleep, or the several calls you had to make.

The pain you went through.

I can’t write about your beautiful memories or the moments you are already missing. The food that didn’t taste like anything or the smiles you put on, just to pretend everything is OK.

But also, I can’t put into words how proud I am of you, for mastering the whole situation so well.
Of still seeing the good sides of life, the bright moments.
The little things.

There is no metaphor, there are no words.
No words for a daughter losing her mother.
A husband losing his wife.

The world losing a friend.

In March 2020, right after Austria entered lockdown, due to the spreading of the Co-Vid19 virus, the world lost one of its greatest souls: Andrea Mehsner, Nina’s Mother. Andrea was a kind-hearted and inspiring woman, and so is her daughter. You always saw her with a little smile on her lips and the best food on the table. They shared not only their big heart, but also their love for music and their ability to say the right thing at the right time.

When Nina went through her mother’s old clothes, she found a lot of unique and wonderful pieces, her favourites being a few fur coats, an old globe and, a retro-chic 80’s blazer, which used to be her mother’s wedding outfit.
